Regular Season Round 3: Centauros - Indios 112-99

No shocking result in a game when Centauros (6-2) beat Ciudad (0-8) in Chihuahua 112-99 on Thursday. Centauros made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game, while Ciudad only scored six points from the stripe. Centauros forced 19 Ciudad turnovers. Strangely Ciudad outrebounded Centauros 43-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Ciudad's players. Ciudad was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international forward Jonatan Machado (200-93) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Gabriel Giron (192-88) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American guard Jerome Seagears (185-92, college: UNLV) answered with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international point guard Ricardo Calatayud (183-92) added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ciudad. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Centauros will face Toros (#3) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ciudad will play against NCG Potros and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
