The game in Santiago was also worth to mention about. Cupes played at the court of Plaza. Cupes managed to secure a 7-point victory 105-98. Cupes players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Juan Suero (196-93) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95, agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) answered with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Saul Mejia added 17 points and 17 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) in the effort for Plaza. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cupes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena GUG.
