CPN recorded a loss against GUG on Friday night. GUG were edged by GUG 119-116. GUG dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to CPN's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Gelvis Solano (185-94, college: Merrimack, agency: BMS Sport Agency) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) chipped in 35 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. Victor Liz (193-86, agency: BMS Sport Agency) produced 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany, agency: BIG) added 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Four CPN players scored in double figures. CPN's coach Victor Pena rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. GUG's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Cupes.
