Regular Season Round 4: Sameji - Plaza 93-109

Plaza can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Santiago, where they defeated Sameji (0-2) 109-93. They outrebounded Sameji 44-25 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Plaza shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. American Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St., agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Plaza players scored in double figures. John Christopher replied with 27 points and Brahian Mendez added 19 points in the effort for Sameji. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Plaza (1-2) left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with GUG and CPN. Sameji at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Plaza's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago GUG.
