Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Aztks (#1) and Quetzales (#3). Quetzales were defeated at home 59-63 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Aztks forced 20 Quetzales turnovers and outrebounded them 48-31 including a 23-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-93, college: Louisville) fired 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Aztks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Natalia Gonzalez produced 18 points and 4 steals and Izchel Valdez added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Aztks have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Aztks maintains first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Mieleras and Lobas. Loser Quetzales keep the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Escaramuzas. Aztks' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ciudad de Mexico to the arena Lobas.
