Regular Season Round 6: Cupes - CDP 82-96

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Cupes (3-1) against top-ranked CDP on Tuesday night. CDP were defeated by CDP (3-0) 96-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cupes. It was a key game for the top position in the league. CDP looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Puerto Rican forward Jose Rodriguez (201-92, college: Texas Southern) who scored 24 points. Center Eloy Vargas (211-88, college: Kentucky, agency: Duran International) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Juan Miguel Suero (196-93) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five CDP and four Cupes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CDP have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Cupes at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. CDP's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Plaza.
