There was no surprise in Concordia where 9th ranked Atenas (4-7) was defeated by second ranked Estudiantes C. (8-5) 80-67 on Saturday. Estudiantes C. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jack Rauch (201-97, college: FSC) who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Chilean guard Cristopher Jara (-0) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Four Estudiantes C. players scored in double figures. Franco Alorda (203-99) produced 9 points and 8 rebounds and Genaro Lorio (192-97) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Atenas' coach Diego Lifschitz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Estudiantes C. maintains second place with 8-5 record having just two points less than leader Dep Viedma, which they share with Echague. Loser Atenas keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Estudiantes C. will have a break next round. Atenas will play on the road against Villa Mitre (#3) in Bahia Blanca and hope to win that game.
