Regular Season Round 17: San Isidro - Riachuelo LR 82-83

There was a small surprise in San Francisco where fifteenth ranked Riachuelo LR (2-11) edged 12th ranked San Isidro (3-7) 83-82 on Saturday. Riachuelo LR made 40-of-44 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game, while San Isidro only scored eighteen points from the stripe. San Isidro was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Diego Alvarez who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Leandro Gerez (196-87, agency: BIG) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Juan Cruz Oberto (200-97) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Santiago Assum (194-98) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Riachuelo LR moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser San Isidro keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Riachuelo LR will face higher ranked Salta Basket (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
