The most exciting game of round 5 in the LBE took place in Nuevo Laredo. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Soles (7-5) to fourth ranked Toros (7-5) 92-90 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Soles. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Raul Olalde (196-96) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. International center Alejandro Reyna (206-97, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Toros' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Fabian Jaimes (198-92) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) added 20 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Four Toros and five Soles players scored in double figures. Toros moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Soles.
