Regular Season Round 4: Heroes - Bucaneros 88-84

Heroes' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Bucaneros (1-2) 88-84 on Saturday. Heroes made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by swingman Kevin Nino (195-91) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Rafael Perez (193-82) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even 22 points and 6 assists by point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-94) did not help to save the game for Bucaneros. Leunan Diaz (194-96) added 16 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Heroes (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Supersonicos. Loser Bucaneros dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Centauros and Llaneros. Heroes will meet Brillantes (#9) in the next round. Bucaneros will play against Llaneros (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
