Very important is a road loss of third ranked Racers (1-4) against fourth ranked Algodoneras (1-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Racers were defeated by Algodoneras in Torreon 71-61. American guard Brittany Byrd (175, college: UIC) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Jocelyn Gandara accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. Algodoneras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Nicole Millender came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Montsserrat Castaneda added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Racers in the defeat. Algodoneras left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with Barreteras and Racers. Algodoneras' next round opponent will be again Racers (#5) in Saltillo.
