Regular Season Round 7: Racers - Marineras 81-61

Bottom-ranked Marineras (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked Racers (3-4) 81-61 on Saturday evening. Racers forced 23 Marineras turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Nicole Millender who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points. Charisse Burruel helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Joselyne Padilla responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Argentinian guard Candela Foresto (163-99) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Racers moved-up to second place, which they share with Mexcaltecas and Barreteras. Marineras lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Racers will face again Marineras (#5) in Puerto Vallarta in the next round.
