An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guanajuato. Top-ranked Mieleras faced 4th ranked Quetzales. Host Mieleras (8-0) smashed guests from Ciudad de Mexico (2-6) 106-73. Mieleras dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Quetzales' 30. Mieleras forced 21 Quetzales turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Quetzales' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jaterra Bonds (170-92, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds and Ana Avalos who added 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Mieleras players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. Izchel Valdez responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mieleras have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Quetzales lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. Mieleras will meet league's second-placed Aztks in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quetzales will play against Marineras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
