Regular Season Round 8: Broncos - Gladiadores 85-76

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Broncos (#4) and Gladiadores (#5). Broncos (5-2) won against visiting Gladiadores (3-5) 85-76. They outrebounded Gladiadores 39-23 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gladiadores were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by international point guard Garly Sojo (196-99) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Michael Rudas (179-94) supported him with 10 points and 5 assists. Five Broncos players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 4 assists by the former international point guard Carlos Cedeno (193-85, college: Frank Phillips) did not help to save the game for Gladiadores. Forward Diego Martinez (192-96) added 16 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Broncos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Diablos. Gladiadores at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Broncos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas .
