Regular Season Round 11: Bucaneros - Brillantes 64-59

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Bucaneros' (3-6) home victory over 8th ranked Brillantes (1-9) 64-59 on Sunday. They outrebounded Brillantes 49-34 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Eduardo Diaz (205-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Jesus Medina (188-94) helped adding 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International swingman Raymond Rada (194-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Melvin Zambrano (193-95) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bucaneros moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Llaneros. Brillantes lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Bucaneros will face higher ranked Gladiadores (#5) in Caracas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brillantes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Diablos.
