The game between Top Four teams took place in Ciudad de Mexico. First ranked host Aztks (9-1) defeated their biggest opponent Mieleras (8-2) 65-58. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Aztks forced 22 Mieleras turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Mieleras helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-93, college: Louisville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Brisa Silva (170-84, college: OK State) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and Alejandra Sanchez added 2 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Mieleras. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aztks have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Aztks maintains first position with 9-1 record, which they share with Lobas. Mieleras at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. Aztks' next round opponent will be Marineras (#5) in Puerto Vallarta. Mieleras will play at home against Escaramuzas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
