Regular Season Round 12: Condores - Centauros 62-80

There was no surprise in Margarita where 9th ranked Condores (1-8) were defeated by sixth ranked Centauros (5-5) 80-62 on Tuesday. Centauros outrebounded Condores 40-28 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Condores' players. The best player for the winners was the former international Jose Bracho (190-98) who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Luis Germany (195-95) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Centauros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Lisandro Duarte (185-1) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and power forward Erick Rodriguez (201-99) added 4 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Centauros moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Indios. Loser Condores keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Centauros will face Cangrejeros (#7) in Maturin in the next round. Condores will play on the road against Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz and hope to win that game.
