An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Caracas. Third ranked Gigantes faced one of their biggest challengers Indios. Guests from Puerto Ordaz (7-4) defeated host Indios (5-5) 85-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Indios. They outrebounded Indios 41-23 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Luis Duarte (190-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international point guard Edwin Mijares (186-92) who added 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Gigantes' coach Carlos Gil used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Cesar Silva (190-81) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91, agency: Promo Sport ID) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Gigantes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-4 record having four points less than leader Spartans. Indios at the other side keep the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Centauros. Gigantes will meet at home Condores (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Indios will play against the league's leader Guaiqueries (#1) in Porlamar and hope to secure a win.
