Twelfth-ranked San Isidro (5-9) made lots of trouble for first ranked Union SF (13-4) in San Francisco on Saturday. The visitors from Santa Fe managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected much easier game. 26 personal fouls committed by San Isidro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Spanish swingman Maximiliano Martin (190-90) fired 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Erbel De Pietro (185-88) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. American center Anthony Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Guillermo Aliende (178-97) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Four San Isidro players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Union SF maintains first position with 13-4 record, which they share with Villa S.Martin. San Isidro at the other side dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Atenas and CAO Ceres. Union SF is looking forward to face Barrio Parque (#6) in Cordoba in the next round where they are favorite. San Isidro will have a break next round.
