Regular Season Round 12: Brujos - Santa Tecla 87-80

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Santa Tecla (12-2) in Izalco on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Brujos (6-8) 87-80. Brujos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brujos made 13 blocks. It was a good game for Guyanese-American power forward Anthony Moe (207-90, college: Millersville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 23 rebounds and 7 blocks. Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-87) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Brujos' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Rican forward Owens Perez (203-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 8 assists and Venezuelan forward Darwin Jaramillo (192-86) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Santa Tecla. Four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. Brujos maintains sixth position with 6-8 record. Defending champion Santa Tecla still keeps top place with two games lost.
