Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Aztks (#1) and Quetzales (#4). Aztks (12-1) crushed visiting Quetzales (4-9) by 17 points 71-54. Aztks forced 21 Quetzales turnovers and outrebounded them 59-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-93, college: Louisville) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Sarai Morales came up with 8 points and 9 rebounds and Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Quetzales in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aztks have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Aztks maintains first place with 12-1 record, which they share with Lobas. Quetzales lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Aztks' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ciudad de Mexico Quetzales.
