The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and Penarol (#7). Penarol was defeated at home 82-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Malvin forced 20 Penarol turnovers. Strangely Penarol outrebounded Malvin 48-35 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized German center Kiril Wachsmann (203-84, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Argentinian Martin Cuello (193-93) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Malvin players scored in double figures. Malvin's coach Federico Camina used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Jarrid Famous (211-88, college: S.Florida, agency: BIG) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and naturalized Spanish guard Gustavo Barrera (194-85) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Penarol. Malvin have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Penarol at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Aguada and Capitol.
