The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Aztks (#1) and Quetzales (#4). Aztks (13-1) smashed visiting Quetzales (4-10) by 17 points 83-66. Aztks forced 22 Quetzales turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aztks made 8 blocks. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-93, college: Louisville) scored 17 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Aztks' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Lucia Sanchez (167-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Aztks have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Aztks maintains first position with 13-1 record, which they share with Lobas. Quetzales lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Aztks' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ciudad de Mexico Lobas.
