Regular Season Round 16: Marineras - Mieleras 61-84

Second ranked Mieleras blasted bottom-ranked Marineras (0-16) in Puerto Vallarta 84-61 on Sunday evening. Marineras is still unable to win any game. Mieleras forced 26 Marineras turnovers. It was a very good performance for American forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds. The other American import guard Jaterra Bonds (170-92, college: Florida) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Joselyne Padilla replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and Argentinian guard Candela Foresto (163-99) added 17 points in the effort for Marineras. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Mieleras (14-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Marineras still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Mieleras will face Quetzales (#4) in Ciudad de Mexico in the next round. Marineras will play at home against Racers and hope to get finally their first victory.
