An interesting game for Escaramuzas (9-7) which hosted in Jalisco 4th ranked Quetzales (4-12). Third ranked Escaramuzas had an easy win 98-61. Escaramuzas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Quetzales' 40. Escaramuzas forced 25 Quetzales turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Center Diana Armas (-93) fired 32 points and 5 rebounds (on 14-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international forward Gladiana Avila (177-94) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and Sarai Morales added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Escaramuzas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mexcaltecas. Quetzales lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Escaramuzas' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Aztks in Ciudad de Mexico and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quetzales will play at home against the league's leader Mieleras and hope to win that game.
