Regular Season Round 30: Union SF - Salta Basket 70-77

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Union SF (14-7) against fifth ranked Salta Basket (12-6) on Monday night. Host Union SF was defeated by Salta Basket in a tough game in Santa Fe 70-77. The best player for the winners was point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) who had a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Nicolas Franco (204-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Spanish swingman Maximiliano Martin (190-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Andres Jaime (184-0) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Union SF players scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Salta Basket moved-up to second place, which they share with Estudiantes C. Loser Union SF keeps the third position with seven games lost. Salta Basket will meet at home league's second-placed Echague in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Union SF will play against Riachuelo LR and hope to secure a win.
