Regular Season Round 17: Marineras - Racers 61-79

Bottom-ranked Marineras (0-17) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 17th consecutive match to third ranked Racers (9-8) 79-61. Ana Bernal orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Nicole Millender contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Racers players scored in double figures. Mayra Gil (-3) answered with 18 points and Joselyne Padilla added 6 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Marineras. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Racers moved-up to second place, which they share with Mexcaltecas. Marineras lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 17 games lost. Racers will have a break next round. Marineras will play again at home against the league's second-placed Racers (#2) and hope to get finally their first victory.
