Santa Tecla outscored Aguila on the road to take 2-0 lead. Santa Tecla forced 20 Aguila turnovers. Puerto Rican forward Owens Perez (203-92) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Cuban Lisvan Valdez (196-88) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds by Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-92, college: PR-Bayamon) did not help to save the game for Aguila. Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
