Regular Season Round 19: Mieleras - Aztks 99-90

An interesting game for Mieleras (17-2) which hosted in Guanajuato their biggest opponent Aztks (13-6). First ranked Mieleras managed to get a 9-point victory 99-90. Mieleras shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Jaterra Bonds (170-92, college: Florida) accounted for 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winning side. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) came up with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Nigerian forward Ijeoma Uchendu (185-92, college: Butler) added 11 points and 20 rebounds respectively for Aztks in the defeat. Four Aztks players scored in double figures. Aztks' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Mieleras. They maintain first place with 17-2 record. Aztks lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the second position with six games lost. Mieleras will again meet at home league's second-placed Aztks in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aztks will have a break next round.
