Regular Season Round 19: Barreteras - Racers 66-73

An interesting game for Racers (11-8) which played road game in Zacatecas against 4th placed Barreteras (7-12). Second ranked Racers managed to get a 7-point victory 73-66. Worth to mention a great performance of Nicole Millender who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds. Montsserrat Castaneda contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Racers players scored in double figures. Racers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Ashanti Hunt (180-96, college: BCU) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian forward Jasmine James (185, college: Memphis, agency: DC Sports) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Barreteras. Racers have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Racers maintains second place with 11-8 record having six points less than leader Lobas. Barreteras at the other side keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Racers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Barreteras will play again at home against the league's second-placed Racers (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
