An interesting game for Escaramuzas (12-7) which hosted in Jalisco their close opponent Mexcaltecas (9-10). Third ranked Escaramuzas managed to get a 13-point victory 51-38. Escaramuzas forced 22 Mexcaltecas turnovers. It was a great evening for American center Jordan Wallace (190, college: Rutgers, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Claudia Ramos (183-97, college: CSUN) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Sofia Payan (167-0) responded with 11 points and Ivon Vite scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Escaramuzas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-7 record having five points less than leader Lobas which they share with defeated Mexcaltecas. Mexcaltecas lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with ten games lost. Escaramuzas will again play against Mexcaltecas (#3) in Tepic in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Mexcaltecas will have a break next round.
