Regular Season Round 5: Los Andes SM - Santa ES 77-58

Bottom-ranked Santa ES (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-58 loss to second ranked Los Andes SM (4-1) in . But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Santa ES's 28. They outrebounded Santa ES 52-36 including 38 on the defensive glass. Center Daniela Mora (179-92) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and Ana Mora (169-99) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Los Andes SM players scored in double figures. Los Andes SM's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Los Andes SM. They maintain second place with 4-1 record behind leader La Perla, which they share with Vikingos. Santa ES lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Los Andes SM's next round opponent will be Punto R. (#4). Santa ES will play against UDJ (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
