Regular Season Round 2: Teclenas - Chilis 89-46

The most surprising game was a loss of Chilis in Santa Tecla on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Teclenas 89-46. Teclenas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chilis' 26. Teclenas forced 24 Chilis turnovers and outrebounded them 65-42 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Chilis' players. Center Andrea Cristales (175-97) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Monica Cordova (174-86) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Teclenas' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Fabiola Mendoza (161-5) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Ana Ruiz (159-5) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Teclenas is looking forward to face Itexsal in San Salvador in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chilis will play against Se7en and are hoping to win this game.
