Seventh-ranked Estudiantes T. (12-12) was very close to win a game against first ranked Echague (18-8) in Parana. Echague managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Echague made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Estudiantes T. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Luciano Silva (190-96) stepped up and scored 31 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Gianluca Vismara (200-97) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Gonzalo Alonso (178-2) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and Ignacio Echevarria (195-98) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Echague maintains first place with 18-8 record. Estudiantes T. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Echague will play against Salta Basket (#5) at home in the next round. Estudiantes T. will play against Colon SF in Santa Fe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
