The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Union SF as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Union SF defeated 12th ranked Riachuelo LR in Santa Fe 84-71. American forward Cedric Blossom (198-94, college: Morgan St.) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Erbel De Pietro (185-88) chipped in 18 points during the contest. American forward T.J. Robinson (203-89, college: LBSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and Diego Alvarez scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Union SF have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Riachuelo LR dropped to the fourteenth place with 17 games lost.
