Liga Nacional top team - Universidad de Concepcion (11-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Quilicura (3-10) 96-57. Universidad de Concepcion shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Quilicura only scored three points from the stripe. Universidad de Concepcion forced 19 Quilicura turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Quilicura's players. Quilicura was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for international guard Diego Silva (186-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists. Guard Michael Rivera (-1) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. The former international forward Jose Campos (189-80) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Osven Ledezma (202-90) added 17 points in the effort for Quilicura. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Universidad de Concepcion. They maintain first place with 11-3 record. Quilicura lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will face league's second-placed Espanol de Talca on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilicura will play against Universidad Catolica (#5) in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
