Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Santa Tecla: Salvadorenas (#5) and Teclenas (#4). Salvadorenas (3-0) won against visiting Teclenas (3-2) 59-54. Salvadorenas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Teclenas' 28. Salvadorenas forced 28 Teclenas turnovers. Strangely Teclenas outrebounded Salvadorenas 52-35 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Salvadorenas brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a good game for Keylin Murcia (161-3) who led her team to a victory with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Forward Gabriela Alfaro (167-4) contributed with 11 points and 5 assists for the winners. Center Andrea Cristales (175-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and Yashary Hernandez (170-99) added 6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Teclenas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Salvadorenas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Teclenas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Salvadorenas will play against Se7en (#6) in the next round. Teclenas will play against Sivar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
