Rather predictable result when second ranked CD Puerto Varas (10-7) won against at home 5th ranked Puerto Montt (4-11) 96-80 on Sunday. CD Puerto Varas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quite impressive performance for American center Arnold Louis (201-90, college: SSU) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international center Juan Fontena (196-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Josh Morris (203, college: UTPB) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Carlos Aranda (200-92) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Puerto Montt. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for CD Puerto Varas. They maintain second place with 10-7 record behind leader Las Animas. Puerto Montt lost their third game in a row.
