Regular Season Round 13: Quilicura - Talca 85-108

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Quilicura (3-10) was outscored at home by second ranked Espanol de Talca (10-6) 108-85 on Sunday. Espanol de Talca outrebounded Quilicura 44-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Quilicura was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American center Travion Leonard (205-93, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni (-90) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. The former international forward Jose Campos (189-80) answered with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Oscar Becerra (-97) added 21 points in the effort for Quilicura. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Espanol de Talca maintains second place with 10-6 record behind leader Las Animas. Quilicura lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Espanol de Talca will face league's leader Universidad de Concepcion at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilicura will play against Universidad Catolica (#5) in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
