Regular Season Round 6: Usulutan R. - Sivar 16-113

Bottom-ranked Usulutan R. (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 113-16 loss to eighth ranked Sivar (2-2) in on Sunday evening. They held Usulutan R. to an opponent 20.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.7 percent accuracy of the winners and had 22 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Usulutan R. only scored three points from the stripe. Sivar forced 62 Usulutan R. turnovers and had a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Usulutan R.'s players. The best player for the winners was Ana Hernandez (165-1) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Allison Marroquin (167-3) chipped in 22 points. Four Sivar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ashley Lazo (160-7) who recorded 7 points and 5 rebounds and guard Blanca Hernandez (165-1) added 5 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Sivar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Se7en. Loser Usulutan R. still closes the standings with four games lost. Sivar will face higher ranked Teclenas (#5) in Santa Tecla in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
