The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Puerto Montt's (5-12) home loss to fourth ranked Deportivo Valdivia (8-7) 57-68 on Saturday. Deportivo Valdivia outrebounded Puerto Montt 49-30 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Gerardo Isla (201-91, college: Columbia, MO) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. International guard Sebastian Suarez (193-91, college: Portland St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Deportivo Valdivia players scored in double figures. Deportivo Valdivia's coach Juan Manuel Cordoba used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Carlos Aranda (200-92) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Pedro Sandoval (180-89) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Deportivo Valdivia have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with AB Temuco. Puerto Montt lost fourth consecutive game.
