Regular Season Round 14: Catolica - Puente Alto 63-85

Everything went according to plan in Santiago where third ranked Puente Alto (9-9) outscored 5th ranked Universidad Catolica (7-10) 85-63 on Saturday. Puente Alto made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Puente Alto outrebounded Universidad Catolica 47-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-89) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line !!!). The former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) chipped in 4 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Point guard Pablo Allegrini (-0) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Aitor Pickett (203-99) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Puente Alto maintains third position with 9-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Las Animas. Universidad Catolica lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Puente Alto will meet Quilicura (#6) on the road in the next round. Universidad Catolica will play against the league's leader Universidad de Concepcion and hope to secure a win.
