Regular Season Round 8: Salvadorenas - Lincoln 47-53

Very significant was Lincoln's (#3) 53-47 road victory against one of their biggest challengers Salvadorenas. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Salvadorenas. Lincoln held Salvadorenas to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Lincoln forced 24 Salvadorenas turnovers. Strangely Salvadorenas outrebounded Lincoln 44-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by forward Camila Lima (172-3) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and forward Adryana Quezada (178-1) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 4 points and 17 rebounds by center Carmen Noyola (176-92) did not help to save the game for Salvadorenas. Keylin Murcia (161-3) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lincoln (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Salvadorenas at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Bulldogs. Lincoln will play against Bulldogs (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Salvadorenas will have a break next round.
