Capitanes used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Santurce 93-89. Cangrejeros were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91, agency: Interperformances) scored 37 points (!!!) (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Christopher Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) scored 21 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cangrejeros' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitanes will play against Grises in Humacao in the next round. Cangrejeros will play on the road against Indios in Mayaguez to get more than just one victory in their record.
