Regular Season Round 3: Bayamon - Guaynabo 90-87

Sixth-ranked Mets (0-3) gave a tough game to Vaqueros (4-0) in Bayamon on Saturday. Vaqueros managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected much easier game. Vaqueros dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Mets' 26 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mets 44-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international Javier Mojica (190-84, college: CCSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 21 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Diamond Stone (211-97, college: Maryland) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Mets players scored in double figures. Mets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros are looking forward to face Grises (#5) in Humacao in the next round. Mets will play at home against Capitanes and hope to get finally their first victory.
