Very significant was Cangrejeros' (#4) 96-82 road victory against 6th ranked Cariduros. Cangrejeros shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by the former international point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-82, college: UTEP) who scored that evening 19 points and 5 assists and American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by international forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) did not help to save the game for Cariduros. American center Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cangrejeros (2-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with San German and Mayaguez. Defending champion Cariduros keep the sixth position with three games lost. Cangrejeros will play against Mets (#6) in Guaynabo in the next round. Cariduros will have a break next round.
