Not a big story in a game in Guaynabo where bottom-ranked Mets (0-3) were defeated by first ranked Capitanes (3-1) 101-88 on Monday. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Capitanes made 7 blocks. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. American power forward Diamond Stone (211-97, college: Maryland) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Five Capitanes and four Mets players scored in double figures. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-1 record, which they share with Guayama. Newly promoted Mets still closes the standings with three games lost. Capitanes will meet at home league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mets will play against Cangrejeros (#4) in Santurce and hope to get finally their first victory.
