Regular Season Round 5: Bayamon - Arecibo 91-70

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Capitanes (3-2) in Bayamon on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Vaqueros (5-0) 91-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Capitanes. Vaqueros shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Javier Mojica (190-84, college: CCSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) who scored 36 points (!!!) (perfect behind the arc making all nine shots !!!). International point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL, agency: Shark Sports Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91, agency: Interperformances) produced 17 points and American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vaqueros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record which they share with defeated Capitanes. Capitanes at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Capitanes will play on the road against Leones in Juana Diaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
