The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Chilis' (1-8) home loss to tenth ranked Itexsal (3-6) 47-71 on Saturday. Itexsal dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Chilis' 32. They outrebounded Chilis 56-40 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Itexsal looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Chilis' players. The best player for the winners was forward Camila Zelaya (165-5) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Nicole Ayala (171-5) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Anna Laguan (157-5) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and Ana Ruiz (159-5) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Itexsal moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sivar and Se7en. Newly promoted Chilis keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Itexsal will meet higher ranked Salvadorenas (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chilis will play against Salvadorenas (#6) and hope to win that game.
