There was a minor upset in Guaynabo where 4th placed Cangrejeros (2-4) were defeated by sixth ranked Mets (1-4) 86-79 on Sunday. Mets made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) fired 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-82, college: UTEP) produced 22 points and 5 assists and American forward Dante Cunningham (203-87, college: Villanova) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Mets left bottom position moving up to fifth place. Loser Cangrejeros keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with San German and Fajardo. Mets will meet at home higher ranked Leones (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cangrejeros will play against Gigantes in Carolina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
